If you use Word Pro, 1-2-3, Freelance Graphics, Approach, Organizer, or the other components of SmartSuite, you've probably wondered how to do something at least once. Anyone can figure out how to type and print text, but how do you merge the addresses in an Approach database with a form letter in Word Pro? Lisa Bucki explains how to do that and pretty much every other complicated procedure that might come up in the course of a particularly hairy SmartSuite workday.

The authors start by exploring SmartSuite as a whole, detailing its Desktop--resident toolbars and shared features. From there, they move on to documentation of the components separately, referring to other parts of the suite as needed. The most useful pieces of their documentation are the stepped procedures--most readers will find themselves looking in the index or table of contents for the relevant page, then following the procedure outlined there. These procedures are accurate, and there are lots of them--it's likely you'll find one that gets you where you want to go.
